Residential Weekend

To be announced

Visit to Dunster - Somerset

On the 24th June 2008 several members of Painting In Penn joined up with a group of artists from another area of the country to explore the scenes in and around Dunster with the complete weekend being led by the well known professional water colour artist, Geof Hunt.

Under his guidance, the party was able to explore such scenes as the
National Trust Water Mill, The High Street with The Octagonal Yarn Market,
Gallox Bridge and Pink House as well as venturing further afield to
Allerford in order to sketch and paint images of the Pack Horse Bridge at
Allerford. During the Saturday afternoon, a visit was made to Porlock Weir
inorder to sketch the Weir, the opened lock gates and the surrounding Exmoor coastal landscape.

Due to both the excitement of sharing experiences and the wealth of subject
matter, available, it is planned to make a return visit during May 2009.
