Residential Weekend
To be announced
Visit to Dunster - Somerset
On the 24th June 2008 several members of Painting In Penn joined up
with a group
of artists from another area of the country to explore the scenes in and around
Dunster with the complete weekend being led by the well known professional
water colour artist, Geof Hunt.
Under his guidance, the party was able to explore such scenes as
the
National Trust Water Mill, The High Street with The Octagonal Yarn
Market,
Gallox Bridge and Pink House as well as venturing further afield
to
Allerford in order to sketch and paint images of the Pack Horse
Bridge at
Allerford. During the Saturday afternoon, a visit was made to Porlock
Weir
inorder to sketch the Weir, the opened lock gates and the surrounding
Exmoor coastal landscape.
Due to both the excitement of sharing experiences and the wealth
of subject
matter, available, it is planned to make a return visit during May
2009.


Other weekend masterclasses are in preparation involving Peter Goode with Animals in Pastels and Colin Clifton -Landscapes in Acrylic.
