This a medium in which the dried powdered pigment is ground or mulled to produce the natural oil paint. The oil comes in several varieties namely, pure extract, boiled and blown. The pure extract and the boiled varieties are used most often in oil painting whilst the blown version is used in domestic gloss paint.
